Brain Drain Series Segment 1: The Nature of the Problem

July 7, 2017 – Every problem we identify in New Mexico seems to come back to one thing: jobs. How do we attract more businesses and create more high-paying jobs? How do we prepare and train workers for those careers? And once we’ve done that, how do we keep our most talented people from leaving the state? This week Gwyneth Doland sits down with three people who have worked with New Mexico Legislative Jobs Council, trying to answer just those questions.

Guests
Mark Lautman, an economic development consultant
Sen. Michael Padilla, a Democrat from Albuquerque’s South Valley
Rep. Sarah Maestas Barnes is a Republican from Albuquerque’s North Valley
