An ‘Indigenously Positive’ Special

This week on New Mexico in Focus, Indigenously Positive takes the spotlight with stories and perspectives from Native people and communities across the state. The collaboration between NMPBS and nonprofit news organization New Mexico In Depth follows Indigenous affairs reporter and series host Bella Davis (Yurok) and NMPBS producer Benjamin Yaza (Diné), as they take us to powwows and markets, and introduce us to climate organizers and language preservationists. Plus, we wrap this week’s show with a snippet from our newsrooms’ first collaborative story — a conversation with several Native voters ahead of last fall’s general election — which took home a first-place award at this year’s Indigenous Media Awards.
