KUNM’s Nash Jones Talks Pregnancy Worker Rights, Tobacco Products Act and Cannabis Legislation

Nash Jones of KUNM radio sits down with host Khalil Ekulona about a variety of topics under consideration in the current 30-day legislation. First is a breakdown of a bill that would ensure a variety of workplace protections for pregnant employees. Nash also discusses a measure that would raise the tobacco purchasing age from 18 to 21. This would bring State law in line with federal laws, which would allow local law officers to enforce the law. The Tobacco Products Act would also create a licensure system for tobacco manufacturers, including e-cigarettes. Lastly, he updates the status of legislation that would legalize recreational cannabis use in New Mexico.
