Rural Healthcare in New Mexico a Feature of National Film “The Providers”

April 4, 2019 – The documentary film “The Providers” airs nationwide on PBS stations on Monday, as a feature of the PBS series “Independent Lens.” The film focuses on the challenge of treating addiction in rural New Mexico. Correspondent Megan Kamerick sits down with both the filmmakers and two of the featured rural healthcare practitioners to talk about the film…and the problems at the core of the crisis. “The Providers” airs Monday, April 8 at 9 pm and Saturday, April 13 at 10 pm on NMPBS 5.1.
