Jamey Stillings

Website

New Mexico photographer Jamey Stillings shares his vision for the construction of the largest solar thermal power plant in the world, Ivanpah Solar.

“I’ve always found the intersection of human activity and nature to be the most compelling for me.”

Robert Silvers

Website

Known for his Photomosiacs, Robert Silvers partnered with an airport and a local school system to create ten unique mosaics for travelers.

“But what’s special about this is the number of people involved: 37,000 school kids.”

Heidi Jung

Website

Artist Heidi Jung has always been fascinated by nature. She explores her subject through the dormant cycles of winter.

“I stay away from pretty; pretty’s been done. I like the conflict between something that’s beautiful and something that could be slightly painful, too.”

Tom Balbo

Website

Paper artist Tom Balbo is passing on an ancient practice to future generations.

“The first thing you do after you cut the plant is you steam it; that allows the outer cellulose bark layer to peel off easily. It’s that white cellulose that becomes your paper.”
