NMPBS is excited to share our latest lesson plan collection with middle and high school educators!
The Challenging Stereotypes of Native American Culture LearningMedia collection uses excerpts from the “Imagining the Indian: The Fight Against Native American Mascoting” to prompt all students to think about and explore how stories and language about Native Americans shape how they see themselves and how they understand their place in the world.

Join NMPBS for an intimate evening with acclaimed author Virginia Eubanks as she reads from her memoir, A Guide to Open Water Lifesaving: Lessons on Love, Care, and Survival. NMPBS’ Andrea Quijada will sit down with Virginia for a conversation about love, family, and caregiving, and how Virginia’s own experiences connect to the themes explored in the PBS documentary Caregiving.
Come for a meaningful conversation about what it means to care for—and be cared for by—the people we love.

Join NMPBS on Thursday, November 5 for an intimate evening with Pati Jinich, the award-winning chef, author, and television host known for her PBS series Pati’s Mexican Table and Pati Jinich Explores PanAmericana.
Before Pati’s special appearance in downtown Albuquerque at the KiMo Theatre at 7 pm, you’re invited, just a few blocks away, to The Avery from 5 pm to 6:30 pm for an exclusive reception featuring Pati Jinich and a tasting menu specially designed by her and inspired by her newest cookbook, Foods of La Frontera.
Guests will have the opportunity to meet Pati, enjoy her food, and spend time with fellow NMPBS supporters in an intimate setting.
