Under general supervision, plans, oversees, and coordinates the support of all local programming and contract productions for the University’s television station. Supervises creative talent and program production staff; directs studio television programs; plus negotiates and administers production contracts.

Will often serve as Director of Photography, shooting video in the field and working with various producer/directors on ENG packages, documentaries, etc.

Will serve as Graphic Designer at times, building graphics and animations for various departments at the station.

New Mexico PBS is seeking one qualified candidate for the position of Student Technical Specialist. The persons selected will work under the Supervisor of TV Production Support as part of the studio production crew. Some assignments will also include field production. The job involves running studio camera, audio, teleprompter, character generator, lighting, general grip work and tape operation. Additional hours will be assigned as needed by New Mexico PBS. This position occasionally requires work in the evening, early morning and/or weekends.

Executes and/or coordinates the design, installation, and maintenance of all remote television transmitters, translators, and satellite distribution equipment across the broadcasting area of the University’s Public television station KNME-TV. Develops, manages, and coordinates construction projects and oversees ongoing technical maintenance for the stations transmission networks. Maintains documentation in accordance with FCC regulations and University policies.

TV Producer/Director (On Call) #0825454

KNME-TV at the University of New Mexico seeks candidates for a TV Producer/Director On Call pool. The successful applicant must have the ability to create and manage all elements for a short video production, including editing and final documentation, with minimal supervision. Must be able to assemble, schedule, manage and direct a production crew as needed for each individual project. Candidates should have competency in script writing and analysis and project management for Industrial, Professional and Corporate Video. Must have the ability to work independently and produce a rough-cut project for final finishing. This position is not benefits eligible.
