New Mexico PBS takes a step back in time to the Battle of Glorieta, one of the most significant battles fought in the west during the Civil War. Shortly after the Battle of Velarde on February 21st, the battle at Glorieta Pass took place in March 28th, 1862. For the number of Federal and Confederate soldiers involved, the Battle of Glorieta ranks as one of the hardest fought battles in the war. Based on a recent reenactment, New Mexico PBS provides viewers with slice of New Mexico’s history during the American Civil War.
