INDIE LENS POP-UP & NMPBS Present A Free Preview Screening of
The First Rainbow Coalition
Saturday, January 18
6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Embudo Valley Library
217 Hwy 75
Dixon, NM 87527
The film develops themes relevant to our state today, including police and community relations, affordable housing, racism and classism. The first Rainbow Coalition, formed in 1969 in Chicago, one of the most segregated cities in post-war America, changed the face of city politics and created an organizing model for future activists and politicians.
In a time of national polarization and division, we believe conversations like these can bring together leaders from many different backgrounds to strengthen our commitment to a shared vision for New Mexico.
Film Screening Followed by a Conversation with Filmmaker Ray Santisteban
