Over four weeks, NMiFpresents a 5-part series, Elections 2016: Voting For Future Generations. The topics include: Education (Sept. 30), Economic Development (Oct. 7), Environment -2 parts (Oct 14), and Justice (Oct. 21). This program is produced by New Mexico PBS for a presentation of Vision Maker Media with major funding provided by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.<\/p>\n

This week<\/strong> New Mexico in Focus looks at the environment as a key issue for some Native voters. In this part of our series Elections 2016: Voting for Future Generations<\/em>, Antonia Gonzales takes us to the Navajo Nation to hear from young voters who are taking a lead in their communities to protect the environment.. Also on NMiF, host Gene Grant<\/a> and the Line panelists discuss the hung jury verdict in the trial of two APD officers who were charged in the shooting death of James Boyd in the foothills of Albuquerque in 2014.
