The state, along with many others, recently received a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.koat.com\/news\/new-real-id-rules-take-effect-monday\/37365752\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">two year extension<\/a>\u00a0in one area of the REAL ID Act from the Department of Homeland Security.<\/p>\n<p>State lawmakers need to approve legislation to bring New Mexico driver&#8217;s license policies in line with the federal requirements.
