But the issue is not a new one in many local communities. What can be done to improve access to treatment for people struggling with heroin or opiate addiction?<\/p>\n<p>Correspondent Stan Wilson sits down this week with\u00a0Damon Martinez, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-nm\/meet-us-attorney\">US District Attorney for the District of New Mexico<\/a>\u00a0and Dr.\u00a0Paul Roth from the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/hsc.unm.edu\/\">UNM Health Sciences Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, Martinez and Dr. Roth announced the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abqjournal.com\/523431\/news\/initiative-aims-to-cut-deaths-from-overdose.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HOPE initiative<\/a> in New Mexico, which aims to address addiction, treatment and overdose deaths in our state.
