On this week\u2019s episode of New Mexico in Focus,\u00a0you\u2019ll\u00a0hear a lot from\u00a0Gov. Michelle\u00a0Lujan\u00a0Grisham, who just passed the signing-day deadline following her final regular legislative session in office. Host Nash Jones had a long conversation\u00a0with\u00a0the second-term,\u00a0Democratic governor\u00a0earlier this week\u00a0\u2014 a post-session deep dive into successes, failures and TBD\u2019s that has become something of an annual tradition for us during her tenure.\u00a0 \u00a0

We\u2019ve\u00a0broken the interview into three parts \u2014 mostly to help viewers catch their breath at a few key points in the discussion.\u00a0 \u00a0

We\u00a0also\u00a0take\u00a0a look at an executive order\u00a0from\u00a0Lujan\u00a0Grisham\u00a0that went into effect\u00a0last week. It bans the\u00a0Children,\u00a0Youth\u00a0and\u00a0Families\u00a0Department from continuing its long-time practice of\u00a0placing\u00a0foster kids\u00a0not\u00a0in homes, with parents, but\u00a0in\u00a0their own office buildings with case workers.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0

We\u2019ll\u00a0get the latest from\u00a0journalist\u00a0Ed\u00a0Williams of\u00a0Searchlight\u00a0New\u00a0Mexico,\u00a0who\u2019s\u00a0been\u00a0reporting on\u00a0the beleaguered\u00a0agency\u00a0and the kids caught up\u00a0and hurt by it\u00a0for years.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
