We talked about her new poetry collection, <a href=\"https:\/\/nyq.org\/books\/title\/worn-smooth-between-devourings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Worn Smooth Between Devourings<\/em><\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/dcaeducates.nmculture.org\/dca-activity-books\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Imagine Nature<\/em><\/a>, a coloring and activity book from the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI think of this book as very much a love letter to New Mexico,\u201d Camp said of her new book. \u201cThis has poems both about the wonder, the awe of New Mexico, and witnessing. There\u2019s a lot of environmental attention here, a lot of attention to the biosphere, to the fires, to the intensifying heat, the drought.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the world speeds up and crisis after crisis unfolds, I find myself yearning toward the quiet of poetry\u2014not to escape the world or turn my attention from it\u2014but to navigate manageable steps toward community, healing, action, and dialogue.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, Camp\u2019s words resonated with me this week, especially when she said \u201cFor me, one of the things that poetry taught me was patience and a sort of generosity to myself. \u2026. I don\u2019t think we have a culture that is slow now, ever, anymore. Further: What is your view of the air quality in Albuquerque?
