Coming in at number 1 is the &#8220;Blue Wave&#8221; that swallowed up this year&#8217;s midterm elections. Not only did the Democrats take back the Governor&#8217;s seat with Michelle Lujan Grisham&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abqjournal.com\/1242837\/lujan-grisham-pearce-vying-to-be-next-nm-governor.html\">big win<\/a> over Steve Pearce, but the entire congressional delegation is now blue. And, there were plenty of firsts in the midterms as well, highlighted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usnews.com\/news\/best-states\/new-mexico\/articles\/2018-11-06\/haaland-wins-us-house-race-in-key-win-for-native-americans\">Deb Haaland&#8217;s win<\/a> in the first congressional district, making her one of the first female Native Americans ever to serve in the U.S. Congress.
