This week on New Mexico in Focus<\/i>, we bring you the documentary “Big Healthy Life,” which tackles the tough topic of childhood obesity.  We also follow up on a few key points with experts on nutrition and exercise.<\/p>\n

NMiF host Gene Grant sits down with filmmaker Chris Schueler to share some insights about how he approached the issues in the film, including what makes New Mexico unique in the battle against childhood obesity, and the importance of involving the whole family in working towards healthy goals.<\/p>\n

Gene also delves into a deeper discussion with registered dietician Patty Keane on such issues as food insecurity and ways families on a tight budget can make better nutritional choices<\/p>\n

And student correspondent Anthony Herrera interviews two medical providers on the importance of exercise and active play in children\u2019s lives. <\/p>\n
