August 4, 2017 \u2013 The Line panel has been looking at New Mexico\u2019s higher education system, and two weeks ago addressed the question of whether our state has too many public institutions of higher learning to be sustainable.  The problem, however, may not be in the amount of schools, but in the way the system is managed. New Mexico\u2019s Higher Education Department is conducting a study to look at the way the state is running its 31 public colleges and universities \u2013 and the Line opinion panel looks at that plan.<\/p>\n
