The sponsor of one bill argues what several polls have shown: The perception of corruption is bad for business and creating an ethics commission would make the state more attractive for companies looking to relocate. And we talk to new Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver about what she\u2019s doing to improve how we track money in politics.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nmlegis.gov\/Members\/Legislator?SponCode=HDINE\"><strong>Rep. Jim Dines<\/strong><\/a> is a former media lawyer who was first elected in 2014. He has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nmlegis.gov\/Legislation\/BillFinder\/Sponsor?SponCode=HDINE&amp;YearStart=54&amp;YearEnd=54&amp;Type=BMR\">sponsored several ethics-related bills<\/a> during his time in the legislature,<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sos.state.nm.us\/default.aspx\"><strong>Maggie Toulouse Oliver<\/strong><\/a> was the Bernalillo County Clerk before winning election to the secretary of state\u2019s office in 2016.
