Rethinking Redistricting

February 12, 2021 – Is it time for New Mexico to change the way it redraws political boundaries? Power is at stake every ten years, but a task force convened by New Mexico First says the state needs to join dozens of others in making the important process less political. The group recommends the creation of a nonpartisan commission for the decadal chore. Here, Gwyneth Doland speaks with two members of the task force about their work and the legislation that grew from it.
