Rep. Lujan Grisham Wants Special Prosecutors for Police-Involved Shootings

US Representative Michelle Lujan Grisham is backing legislation in Congress that would require special prosecutors in shootings involving police officers across the country.

Our producer Sarah Gustavus sat down with Rep. Lujan Grisham to talk about the legislation and what it might mean for Albuquerque and APD.

Representative Lujan Grisham also recently sent a letter to the US Department of Energy requesting that the Albuquerque Police Department no longer have access to the National Training Center at Kirtland Air Force Base.

In the letter, the Congresswoman questioned the need for APD officer to participate in “military-style training” designed to prepare officers who are assigned to protect the nation’s nuclear arsenal.
