The Line opinion panel looks at the latest statewide poll by Research and Polling, Inc. and the Albuquerque Journal. The poll revealed a tighter-than-expected presidential race in New Mexico and showed Democrats holding leads in two key races for Congress.

The Line also looks at political fundraising across the state and the continued struggles of Governor Susana Martinez’s administration as a lengthy recording of the governor’s chief of staff reveals the bare-knuckled nature of state politics.

Three organizers of the International Mountain Bicycling Association’s 2012 world summit are in studio to talk about Santa Fe’s successful bid to host the October conference. Recreation planners and mountain biking enthusiasts have been quietly building New Mexico’s reputation as a mountain biking destination. The conference looks to bring bicyclists – and money – to trails across the state.

Martha Burk returns with a closer look at the women’s vote, as both Democrats and Republicans try to win women over and win the White House.
