New Mexico PBS routinely hires student employees for various production and studio positions. Student Workers serve many needs at New Mexico PBS, including Production, Post-Production, Communications, Education & Member Services. Students often come from the Media Arts and Communications Departments at UNM.

New Mexico PBS also mentors Student Interns seeking credit for Production or Station work, and High School Students through the APS Mentorship Program.

CJ 360 Broadcast News I
Description: This class is designed for journalism and multimedia students with an interest in broadcast journalism. The course emphasizes broadcast news production. Students learn how to make reports for television and Webcasts. Students will use ENG cameras, a state-of-the-art broadcast studio and video editing equipment. They will also be introduced to the various jobs in television news and multimedia news.

CJ 460 Broadcast News II
Description: This class is designed for journalism and multimedia students with an interest in broadcast journalism. The course emphasizes honing the broadcast news production skill learned in the C&J 360 course, and making a resume reel for landing a job.
