The Line: Political Scene – Native American Women Running For Office & An Unusual Lawsuit
March 23, 2018 – There has never yet been a Native American Congresswoman. But this year, with at least four indigenous women running for Congress, that may change. A story in The New York Times this week featured Deb Haaland, a citizen of Laguna Pueblo, who is running for New Mexico’s First Congressional District’s seat. Gene Grant and the Line panelists take on this topic, and also discuss an unusual defamation case that is testing the limits of free speech.
