Impact of inadequate matching Medicaid funding, excerpt of 2nd Congressional District debate

This week on NEW MEXICO IN FOCUS, correspondent Stan Wilson sits down with Dr. Andrew Hsi from UNM, and Jenny Metzler from Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless, to discuss how a lack of adequate matching Medicaid funding from the state is impacting patients and providers.

NMiF will also feature an excerpt of the debate between candidates in the 2nd Congressional District in southern New Mexico. U.S. Representative Steve Pearce (R) is running for re-election in 2016. His opponent, Merrie Lee Soules (D), is a former General Motors executive.

Host Gene Grant and this week’s Line opinion panelists discuss early voting turnout, continued legal challenges against the Albuquerque Rapid Transit (ART) system project, and a proposed project in Albuquerque that would pay former law enforcement officers to respond to some non-emergency calls.
