For more than 40 years, MASTERPIECE has enthralled audiences with the works of the finest classic and contemporary writers interpreted by the world’s foremost actors.

The MASTERPIECE schedule breaks the year into three “seasons,” each with its own host, graphics and distinct take on the series’ famous theme music. In the summer, MASTERPIECE MYSTERY! presents the best of British mysteries.

This year, New Mexico PBS presents a Summer of All New Mysteries:

Sundays, 6/23-6/30: “Inspector Lewis – Season 6”
Sundays, 7/7-7/28: “Endeavour” (A Young Inspector Morse)
Sundays, 8/25–9/8: “Silk” (A New, Modern-Day, British Courtroom Series)

MYSTERY! “Inspector Lewis, Series VI”
Kevin Whately returns for a sixth season as Inspector Lewis. He and his young partner DS Hathaway (Laurence Fox) continue solving cases in the seemingly perfect academic haven of Oxford.


Inspector Lewis, Series VI “The Ramblin’ Boy”
Sunday, 6/23 at 9:00 pm
With DS Hathaway on holiday, Inspector Lewis is assigned a new partner to investigate the discovery of an elderly man’s body in a field. Finding that the man had already been embalmed, the inquiry leads to a funeral home and those connected to it, including one of Lewis’ former colleagues. Peter Davison (“Doctor Who”) guest stars.


Inspector Lewis, Series VI “Intelligent Design”
Sunday, 6/30 at 9:00 pm
Lewis and Hathaway are called in to examine the brutal death of a chemistry professor recently released from prison. There may be a connection to the discovery of a murdered Oxford student reported lost for 15 years. As more casualties and suspects emerge, Lewis considers his future on the force. Edward Fox (Ghandi, “Foyle’s War”) guest stars.


MYSTERY! “Endeavour, Series 1″
Sundays, 7/7/13 – 7/28/13 at 9:00 – 10:30 pm
Follow young Endeavour Morse as he uses his deductive powers to
solve crimes in Oxford.
Before Inspector Morse, there was the rookie Constable Morse. Shaun Evans (“The Take,” “The Virgin Queen”) stars as young Endeavour Morse, before his signature red Jaguar, but with his deductive powers already running in high gear.


Endeavour, Series 1 “Girl”
Sunday, 7/7 at 9:00 pm
DC Morse (Shaun Evans) and DI Thursday (Roger Allam) investigate burgled gas meters, the sudden death of a young secretarial student and a string of Post Office robberies, confounding the solution to a pair of violent murders. Could Morse’s future on the force be in jeopardy?


Endeavour, Series 1 “Fugue”
Sunday, 7/14 at 9:00 pm
Morse and Thursday are confronted with a new breed of murderer, as a string of Oxford homicides continues with no end in sight. The entire police department is working round the clock and a special expert comes on to assist, but Morse’s love of opera may be the key to stopping the killing.


Endeavour, Series 1 “Rocket”
Sunday, 7/21 at 9:00 pm
A royal visit to a family-owned munitions factory begins as a proud occasion for the people of Oxford, but the joyous day ends with murder. Morse delves into the family’s murky past, as well as his own, as he attempts to uncover the culprit before more lives are lost.


Endeavour, Series 1 “Home”
Sunday, 7/28 at 9:00 pm
While studying for his upcoming sergeant’s exam, Morse investigates the hit-and-run death of an eminent Oxford professor. The pressure mounts with his father’s illness and the appearance of an enemy threatening to reveal aspects of Inspector Thursday’s past. In the end, Morse must choose between the responsibilities of his job and loyalty to his mentor.


Sundays, 8/25 – 9 /8 at 9:00 – 11:00 pm
This modern, fast-paced legal drama that follows the rivalries, passions and intrigues of criminal law stars Maxine Peake (“Little Dorrit”) and Rupert Penry-Jones (“MI-5”/”The 39 Steps”) as rival barristers – Martha and Clive. Written by Peter Moffat (“Criminal Justice”).


“Silk: Episode 1″
Sunday, 8/25 at 9:00 pm
Barrister Martha Costello is under pressure to win cases as she aspires to rise to the rank of Queen’s Counsel, also known as “taking Silk.” In an effort to boost her Silk application, Martha takes on challenging cases to prove her merit — and an ambitious student pupil (Tom Hughes). That Martha’s opposing counsel in a major case is Clive, a rival barrister in her chambers, complicates matters further. Will Martha be able to satisfy both the personal and the professional demands placed on her?


“Silk: Episode 2″
Sunday, 9/1 at 9:00 pm
As Martha defends a vulnerable teenager, the pupils are given their first opportunity to stand up in court. In a separate case at a police tribunal, she is forced to defend a police officer accused of racism. As the pressure continues to mount for Martha and the pupils, Clive receives some astonishing news that could change not only his personal life, but life at chambers for everyone.


“Silk: Episode 3″
Sunday, 9/8 at 9:00 pm
Both Martha and Clive have their Silk interviews and Martha takes on the biggest case of her life: defending a repeat offender on a murder charge at the Old Bailey. When the case begins to fall apart, Martha struggles to remain focused as the stress on her personal and private life grows. All the while, the pupils’ future and the fate of chambers hang in the balance.
