    The University of St. Thomas in Saint Paul, Minn.  shares its annual holiday concert, featuring 7 of the university's internationally renowned vocal & instrumental ensembles performing a festive collection of seasonal favorites.

    Traveling the majestic Danube river as it passes through stunning European landscape, history and culture, particularly spectacular at Christmas.

    This unique musical event marks the first time Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol has been adapted for a live orchestral concert.

    Chloe sees Mr Stink (Hugh Bonneville MASTERPIECE “Downton Abbey”) every day, but she's never spoken to him, which isn't surprising, because he's a tramp, and he stinks. But before she knows it, Chloe has an unusual friend hiding in her garden shed when it looks like Mr Stink, and his stinky dog Duchess, might be driven out of town.

    “Holiday” celebrates some of our most important traditions. Nordic folk woodcarver Harley Refsal brings to life the rich history of winter solstice. Clay artist Susan Garson creates fanciful Chanukah menorahs. Navidad is celebrated in San Antonio with religious processions, tamales and Kathleen Trenchard’s sparkling luminarias. Garcia Art Glass makes colorful ornaments, and Veronica Castillo creates a traditional Mexican Tree of Life.

    Travel to Norway, and Trondheim’s historic Nidaros Cathedral, to a spectacular holiday concert featuring the internationally-known, 75-voice a cappella St. Olaf Choir from St. Olaf College and the Norwegian girl choir, Nidaros Jentekor.

    CHRISTMAS AT BELMONT 2013 Ch. 5.1: Tuesday 12/24 at 7:00 pm and Wednesday 12/25 at 1:00 pm

    Acclaimed American mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves hosts this annual production of traditional carols, classical masterworks, world music and light-hearted seasonal favorites taped at Belmont University in Nashville, with nearly 700 University student musicians, the Belmont School of Music faculty and the Nashville Children’s Choir.

    GREAT PERFORMANCES From Vienna: The New Year’s Celebration 2014 Ch.5.1: Wednesday 1/1/14 at 8:30 pm

    Stage and screen legend Julie Andrews returns as host, continuing the tradition of ringing in New Year with the Vienna Philharmonic at the Musikverein, featuring everyone’s favorite Strauss Family waltzes accompanied by the beautiful dancing of the Vienna City Ballet. The venerable concert is the largest worldwide event in classical music reaching millions of people annually through radio and television in over 80 countries.
