On July 8th, New Mexico PBS visited the K-3 Plus Summer Program at Chelwood Elementary as part of our continued support for the local PBSKids Writers Contest! Contest coordinator Hollie spoke to 190 students about the importance of writing and what makes a good story, getting the kids excited about writing and submitting their own stories for the contest. To complete the presentation, an episode of the beloved PBSKids show Arthur was screened to help drive home the core concepts of writing a great story, which really engaged the kids (and teachers)! There were some great questions and bunch of kids who were interested in entering the contest!
